Homelessness Awareness Week 2017

Bristol Homelessness Awareness Week (February 18-25) aimed to raise awareness of homelessness, those at risk of becoming homeless and the issues facing rough sleepers.

This year the specific focus was on help. We planned to do this in two ways:

·         engaging with people who want to help – by promoting volunteering and fundraising opportunities

·         reaching out to people who need help – by highlighting the importance of early intervention and persuading people to access the support they need.

The aim was also be to encourage people to look out for each other, spot the early warning signs and take action.

Key activities/events during the week were :
18/19 February – Social media launch using #HomelessBristol
20 February        – Launch Event, The Island
***  Art4Change will be exhibiting throughout the week ***
24 February        – Women’s Homelessness Pathway Group
24 February        – Sleepout (#Sleepout17)

Look out for “What IF ……” mirrors in the Galleries & Cabot Circus during the week.

and there are a couple of invitation only events taking place
